Changing the split level of an existing share

Featured Replies

I incorrectly made a share have a split level of 1 when I would've been better served with 2.  A bunch of file copies later and I have a full drive. My share name is 'temp' and the only folder under it currently is 'movies'. I've changed the split level, but any subsequent copying of files to \\tower\temp\movies is still only hitting disk1.

What should I do to kick it in so that it creates a temp\movies folder on other disks and begins moving new data evenly?

Well, I changed the name of my first subdir from movies to movies1. Initially, this had no effect, however, on a whim I tried to copy some more files over a few hours later, and it created a new movies1 directory on another disk and began filling it. Go figure. Not sure how to replicate or what it was that fixed it.
