what's the max. possible streaming via Plex Media Server?

Ok, I built this system 2 years ago for unRAID, i oversized it as I knew I'll be loading it.

Basically, a Norco 4224 box,  with ESXi 5.5 as the host. The card i'm using is Dell Perc H200 connected to an expander (Intel RES2SV240) and the card is passthrued to unRAID VM.

I have the following VMs:

1.) unRAID as a VM

2.) Windows VM (Plex Media Server)

3.) Windows VM (running SickBeard, SABNZBD and few other tools).

All those systems are connected via 1 Gig cables to a simple gig switch (netgear).

The Plex VM is accessing my user shares on unRAID via SMB (e.g. \\tower\movies)

My Internet speed is a 50 mbps download and 20 mbps upload

I've got friends that connect via my plex server to stream media.

At most, I've seen up to 5 simultaneous  users, they are streaming at 2-3 mbps (720p quality).

They never complained, and they tell me the streaming is with an amazing quality.

1.) I want to know my maximum limit, anyone can help? Will I have any bottleneck at the plex server accessing the content via SMB? I will know my limit at the upload speed (20 mbps / 3mbps streaming), that will allow a max. of 6 users at the same time.

2.) Is my setup/configuration correct or there is room for improvement?

Based on the stats you gave, you can probably handle 6 streams of 720p content at 3mbps without issue based on the 20mbps upstream but 5 would be the safe limit.
