December 11, 201411 yr i like the idea of periodic backups of VMs from this thread http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=33099.0 but thats how to do it in Xen... any thoughts if we can take the same approach for KVM? let me know if anyone has started this already...
December 11, 201411 yr This page has a lot of good information. Does Webvirtman not do some backup and snapshotting? I'm not home so I can't check, sorry http://vitobotta.com/kvm-lvm-virtual-machines-backup-cloning/#sthash.4avPf4JM.dpbs
December 11, 201411 yr Author hmm, that seems to be geared towards LVM based disks... im using qcow2 image as my disks. also, webvirtman has snapshotting, but i dont see any options for backup while the guest is still running. I would like to be able to backup on a schedule all m VMs in case my one-disk cache disk dies
December 12, 201411 yr Guy's have have started something similar a few days ago: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=36764.0 Maybe we can work together in order to come up with something similar to that what was developed in the XEN area of the forum?
December 12, 201411 yr I don't know, this CloudBacko sounds like it's the way to go and not at all an advert for the software posted by someone pretending to be a contributing member of the forum.
December 12, 201411 yr Author hah, ive seen this cloudbacko guy post a couple times in this forum... getting annoying
December 12, 201411 yr I checked out the site. I don't really see how it's relevant to an Unraid setup, as it only backs up VM's from Hyper-V or VMware.
