Issue with missing data in share, but still on drive share?

Featured Replies

I *know* I've run across this one before...

I have a share that spans 5 drives... and I went into a folder tonight and it's completely empty (\\server\share\folder).  If I browse to the share via \\server\disk1\share\folder, \\server\disk2\share\folder, etc.. several of the drives do indeed have data on them... but I can't get to it through the share.  My cache drive is empty...

Am I running into some sort of split level issue, or some sort of directly level corruption?

I ran across this years ago, just can't find my notes on what I did to get myself out of this mess the last time...:)

Thanks,

Pete

May be answering my own question... looks like one of the drives is throwing some permissions errors so I'm running a reiserfsck check against it and it's finding all sorts of fun...

..The level of the node is not correct

whole subtree is skipped/etc.. (over and over again)

Finished Reiserfschk, wanted me to run a 'rebuild tree' process for the 67 items that it found a problem with.  Took most of the day but it wrapped up and seems to have put everything back on track.  there's a lost & Found, but it's empty... Comparing with a backup I had, and so far it looks like things are 1:1, so I guess I didn't loose anything except a day of my sanity worrying about it :)
