[FEATURE REQUEST] - Unraid APIs (e.g. REST)

Featured Replies

Do you, or do you plan to expose all of the core functionality as a set of APIs to allow other developers to integrate with it or to create alternative UIs such as mobile apps etc.?

REST seems the open standard and flavour of the moment.

There is an iOS app made by our very own community member, speeding_ant, that you can get more information about from here:  http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=33590.0

As far as adding REST API support, we honestly haven't talked about adding that yet and don't see this as a short-term objective for us.  unRAID is designed to be accessed and managed on a local and trusted network.  In addition, mobile devices like iOS and Android can use their native browsers to interact with our webGui and this works fairly well.  Performance is solid on my Nexus 5 for sure.

All of that said, this isn't something I can say we would be prioritizing in the short term, but definitely something we'd be open to a little further down the road.
