New network equipment

Featured Replies

I'm looking for two new switches for my network. At the moment i'm using a old unmanaged 10 ports sitcom switch which is full and i need more connections. My rack is connect with a old router using only the switch functionality. It's also full and need more connections. Thus one switch is for my rack and one switch for the house. I want to connect the switches with 2x1Gbps. I also want to connect my server and unRAID with 2Gbps. All equipment in the house will have a 1Gbps connection. So i need switches which support LACP. Maybe in the future i want to update my AP's. Maybe it's nice if the AP's are the same brand as the switches. What do you suggest?

Edit: searching for a fanless model.

Thank you.

Interesting switch. If i'm correct this switch is fanless. I was forgot to mention that i search for a fanless model. It also supports LACP. Any particular reason you suggesting a Netgear? Good experiences?

Thank you.

I have the GS108T model, and it's very good. I haven't used a GS716Tv3, so it's a blind recommendation.

Okay, appreciated.

From these three, i would avoid the D-Link one, I have terrible experiences with their products.

I'm using a HP Procurve 1810,  fanless supports lacp, vlans etc.

Okay that is clear.

I think the HP 1810 has one disadvantage it doesn't support IPv6... The Netgear and the Zyxel doesn't have this problem.

Edit: I'm not sure about the Linksys...

Any switch will forward ipv6 packets.  The procurve can't be managed by ipv6 if that sort of thing floats your boat.... :)
