December 24, 201411 yr Hello Guys, I recently installed a new cable modem and wireless router. Now my mapped drives don't come up and I tried to use IP to login but it doesn't show up. I logged in to the router and it does not show up in devices. What should I try next? Thanks in advance, Oscar
December 24, 201411 yr Author I am only showing 3 wired connections. My computer, receiver and tivo. When I plug in the cable from tower to the router the network lights on the NIC card light up and it looks like there is activity, but nothing comes up on the router. Is there anyway to access the tower even though it does not show up on the network?
December 25, 201411 yr Check your network settings, make sure you are configured to be on the same subnet. A new router may be configured differently than the last one, especially a problem if you were using static IP's.
December 25, 201411 yr Is there anyway to access the tower even though it does not show up on the network? Locally with a keyboard and monitor. With your old router, you probably had the server set to a static IP address, and the new router is using different subnets ie: 192.168.1.xxx instead of 192.168.2.xxx If you log in locally, you can edit /boot/config/network.cfg and change the IP to something more appropriate.
December 25, 201411 yr Or, alternatively you can take the flash drive and plug it into your computer and modify the same file with Notepad++
December 25, 201411 yr Author Thanks Squid, that makes sense. I will try taking out the flash and making change to file Thanks again, Oscar

Thanks again and merry Christmas O It may have worked in this instance, but you should generally avoid using notepad to edit unRAID system files. Notepad++ was the recommendation.
