New Case... new problems...

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,

hope you can help me with my problems with the new case I bought some days back; my system is as follow:

M/B          Supermicro X9SCM-iiF

CPU         Intel Xeon E3-1230v2

Memory    Hynix HMT41GU7MFR8C-PB 16GB

PSU         Corsair HX650

SAS Card Supermicro AOC-SAS2LP-MV8

OS         unRAID Pro License

Since few days back I was using a Fractal Design box with no issues but I decided to upgrade my system with a hot swap case just to play a little bit around and to have the capability to manage better my drives.

The only option I was able to find here in Dubai was the following:

EDNSE ED424H48    http://en.ednse.com/a/4U%20Classis/2014/0514/120.html

After I assembled it and started it for the first time I was not able to find any of the drives installed and the following attempts after reboot were giving me the same error  or a random recognition of one, max two, drives with no apparently logic.

Any clue???

PS The people that sold me the box have no clue and they are guessing there is an incompatibility between the Motherboard and the box...

Not much experience of it but It sounds like an issue with the SAS connections to the cages lor the drives arent sitting right on the connections. I would go to computer plaza (Al ain mall) in bur Dubai or try the guys at gear-up.me
