Memory usage @ 99% during Parity Check??

Doing a parity check and just got done installing Win7 in zen.  When to restart Win7, won't let me because of memory usage.  I notice in Dashboard my memory usage @ 98-99%

 

Is this normal, can the memory be released?

    Unused memory is wasted memory. It is normal to use what is available as temporary buffers that will be freed up should an application need memory.
