My new build uses an Antec 1200 and was pretty quiet until I hooked up the drive cages. I'm using x4 iStarUSA BPN-DE350SS and have the fans at low. Not sure what RPM this sets the fans to. Anyone have any experience with these cages and how to silence them? In fact, could I remove the fans all together and let my case do the cooling?

    I've got some 5 in 3 cages, different to yours, but I replaced all the fans to some Noctua ones.  Still not silent by any stretch of the imagination.  You could remove the fans and see what your temps do, but my suspicion is that your hard drives will get a little bit too toasty for comfort.  May just be better off seeing if you can replace the fans.
