nightanole
I thought id start a "which 6tb" thread since im about due to replace my 2tb backup drive collection. Rules are no shingle(cant be used for parity) or astronomically priced enterprise drives(under $300). Dephcon
Backblaze prefer the WD Reds over Seagate, but haven't tested the HGST NAS drvies yet. https://www.backblaze.com/blog/6-tb-hard-drive-face-off/ Personally, I'd go with a HGST for parity and Reds for data as they're much cheaper in Canada. WeeboTech
I have the HGST 6TB's, They are more expensive, but I'm happy with them. 225MB/s on the outer tracks! I have the Seagate 6TB's but only because they were in the $200 range. I'm not as happy with them since the mid drive position screw holes are missing on the sides and underside. I understand why, but I have issue with it in my Fractal Design R4 Case in that I cannot bolt the front of the drive down tight. I'm concerned of the potential vibration over the long term. StevenD
There's only one drive on that list I would buy. Quote Link to comment
