January 12, 201511 yr Hello, I have four disk (3x3TB for data and 1x3T for parity and no cache), I searched for many days some guides about using unraid in this forums, google, etc... I'm wondering if the best option that I can use in my server is using the "most free" allocation method because I'm using the same size for all disk. Actually I use the "hight water" method and have two folders share (like movies and music), the the split level is set to"automatically" so I think this is the best option that I can use and when I get a fail disk then ¿rebuilding data is more precise?. Another dude is about changing the allocation method in hot (so if you change the high water method to most free then the data will get corrupted?) or you need to reboot to confirm this change? About using backups for manage your critical data, yes I know the best option is to get another disk but off-site to store this crititcal data. Thank you in advance.
