April 28, 200917 yr http://store.chassisoutlet.com/hoalba5xsasa.html I like the fact that its tray-less. My other option is the SUPERMICRO CSE-M35T-1B. Thanks!
April 28, 200917 yr I don't have it but it was one that I was considering, however I've heard that the drives can get pretty hot in this unit. Newegg has them here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816215083 There are a couple other trayless, but I'll be honest, I kinda like the sexy black/red look But not if it fries my drives...still researching... Would be nice to see others input on this...

May 1, 200917 yr Ya I can't see how they can get that hot. I'd much rather have 2x60mm fans over my single 80mm on my Icy Dock. My only thought is that my ID has slits going across the entire front of each of the bays... this iStar doesn't seem to have much airflow up front. I'm not sure how sealed those compartments are.
May 1, 200917 yr I've heard that the drives can get pretty hot in this unit. Where did you hear or read this? Just some reviews online while browsing. I like'em 'cause they look sexy :-P so they're still on my list of possibilities. The lack of slits for easy install in a pedestal case is disappointing a bit but it's easy'nuff to bend those tabs or Dremel them off so not a biggy. If someone gets'em post a reply with what you think...
May 4, 200917 yr Wonder why this thing has 10 SATA connections? It doesn't... Five of them are labeled as SATA1 through SATA5 The other five are labeled SAS1 through SAS5 You would only use one of each pair of connectors, depending on your drive controller. Joe L.
