so if I hide this, what address do i type in to get to it by browser? i thought it was just http://tower/flash, but that brought me to a blank page.

Use back-slashes, not forward slashes.

 

http://tower/flash is looking for a web-page named "flash"  (and you don't have one)

 

\\tower\flash is looking for a shared folder named flash

 

 

You don't get to it with a browser either. Try Windows Explorer. I guess Internet Explorer would still open it though.
