Shares not using disk

Featured Replies

I'm having a problem. This is what I did:

1) download 6.0-beta12, put onto USB, make bootable, boot off

2) renamed to winserver from tower

3) added a 2TB disk as my disk1

4) added a 3TB disk as my parity

5) started parity calculation

6) try to create share, hit apply, nothing happens on the GUI. console shows error "mkdir: cannot create directory '/mnt/user/NewShare': No such file or directory"

7) I played around with things in the GUI for 2 hours. No resolution. Restarted with new USB stick. No resolution.

8) SSH into server

9) check to see if /mnt/user exists. Does not. manually create "mkdir /mnt/user"

10) can add shares now just fine

11) share reports 7.9gigs available (which coincidentally is the same size as the USB stick)

I'm lost. I've been using unraid 4 for years, and it ran fine. Now I can't even set up a single share. I have about 15 hard-drives waiting to be put back into the server, all our media is offline. Any suggestions?

THanks.

Tried unRAID 5.0.6. I was up and running in *3* minutes flat. Configured and everything. Share added fine, usable, all 2TB of it. Parity calculating.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Howdy hades, your thread was linked elsewhere, and I wanted to attempt an explanation of what you are seeing, and why it works this way.  Please see this.  I suspect you are a Windows user?    :)
