January 20, 201511 yr I have a problem with some downloaded files. These files don't show up in the file-browser of a Windows machine and don't get unrarred by sabnzbd. The files show up in putty and mc like shown in the picture. I think the small square in the file is causing the problem. How can I rename thes files easily? How can I unrar these files manually? How can I avoid this happening again?
January 20, 201511 yr You can rename the files through mc by pressing F6. To prevent it from happening again, Sab has an option (switches menu) to replace illegal characters in name. Most of the time it works, but sometimes something still manages to get through. If the folder that the files are in has an illegal character also, you might be able to get away with just renaming it, and then seeing if Windows will show the files with the illegal character in it (and then unrar it there yourself, or use something like BulkFile Renamer to just kill the single character)
January 21, 201511 yr Author Is there an easy way to just change the offending character? Like in a filemanager in Windows or to copy paste the proper filename? Yeah I am lazy. I have that switch set in sabnzbd BTW. But it still seems to happen.

It is very easily done by mc in telnet.
