6.0 beta 12 email alerts configured successfully but not sending any alerts

Featured Replies

I'm on 6.0 beta 12, I am able to configure and send a test alert successfully, but I have not received an alert besides the test for anything. I have had a scheduled parity check run, a power failure that had the server running on ups for a while and several reboots with nothing from the alert system.

Is there anyway to test the alerts besides the config page, could someone from LT please let me know what should be sending alerts?

dave,

I'm sorry but you'll have to wait for an upcoming release which will offer more documentation and configuration options for system notifications.  I can't say for certain all the events that trigger a notification in the current release as it isn't documented yet.  I can say that we are adding a lot more control to this feature and documentation so that folks like yourself can better test and confirm things are working properly.

Can you at least tell me if it should be sending any alerts right now, at this point I'm not sure if it's not working, or if it's just not been implemented by LT to do anything, and I honestly cannot believe it is this difficult to get a straight answer from anyone, at this point (beta 12) are any alerts being sent for any reason?

FWIW, I have only received one alert when my UPS went to battery mode (which I manually triggered).

I haven't gotten a single email alert from my server since I installed the new beta. I find it extremely frustrating that no one can tell me what if anything should be sending alerts, is the development being outsourced? Surely the person who added the new alert stuff in the latest beta could take 5 minutes to tell us.

Since installing the update for Dynamix (http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=36527.msg349680#msg349680), and the update for the monitor script http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=37817.msg349980#msg349980 I have been getting parity check start / stop emails, smart statuses.

Edit: Also plugin updates available, and redballed drive
