[Solved] Power Outage And Now Getting Error: Network Path Not Found

Featured Replies

I am using unraid 5.04 and had a power outage earlier this week.  I started up the unraid server again and it went through the parity check and finished and now I am getting the error below when I try and access the shares.  I tried restarting the server through the web management UI and started the parity check again and still can't access the shares.

An error occurred while reconnection to v: to \\Tower\Backup

Microsoft Windows Network: The network path was not found.

The connection has not been restored.

Try unmapping the drive in Windows.

Can you see Tower in Windows Explorer under Network?

Just tried that.  It can't find the server on my network.  I see 2 other computers to choose but not the tower.  I also tried typing it directly into windows explorer and it says it can't be found.  I can access the web management using both tower and the IP though.

When you say you tried typing it directly into windows explorer, do you mean like

\\tower

What about typing the IP into explorer like

\\ip-address

Thanks for helping.

Ya that is what I mean.  Tried both the IP and \\Tower and both of them it says Windows cannot access \\Tower

Is SMB enabled on the server?  (Settings/SMB Settings)

Yep and "Local Master" is set to yes with the Workgroup as Workgroup which is also the same workgroup the computer I am trying to access it from is on.

Oh and I also checked my router to see if there were multiple computers with the same IP address and I didnt see any of that either.

I see 2 other computers to choose but not the tower.

Can you access \\Tower from the other two computers?

I can't access the shares from from any computer on the network.  I checked the network cables going directly to it, but figured since I could access the web app it had some sort of network connection working.

Can you attach the syslog just for the heck of it.

Your flashdrive is corrupted and set to read-only.

Toss it in your computer and run checkdisk on it, restart the server again

If that doesn't help, post another syslog after

When I plugged into my comp it asked if I wanted to repair it so I clicked yes.  I then ran check disk and got the below (Deleted Serial Number).  I will try and plug it back in and start it up again and see if that fixes it.  Takes like 8 hours for it to finish the parity check though so heres hoping.  Thanks for your help so far though!!

The type of the file system is FAT32.

Volume UNRAID created 12/10/2013 7:39 PM

Volume Serial Number is

Windows is verifying files and folders...

File and folder verification is complete.

Windows has checked the file system and found no problems.

    7,812,592 KB total disk space.

32 KB in 1 hidden files.

          48 KB in 3 folders.

      35,776 KB in 23 files.

    7,776,720 KB are available.

16,384 bytes in each allocation unit.

488,287 total allocation units on disk.

486,045 allocation units available on disk.

You don't actually need to wait for the parity check to finish.  You should be able to still access the files, albeit at a slower rate.

The read-only flashdrive is why the system keeps on insisting on a parity check when you start it up (even if you shut it down correctly)

While it might cost some $, you really should have a UPS on all computers.
