Did I fry my onboard NIC?

Featured Replies

For a variety of reasons I swapped out my old power supply and case.  Upon starting Unraid, my network speeds were incredibly slow.  I tried replacing the cable, still the same.  Videos which previously played were taking ever to open and badly stuttering.  I did run ethtool and it showed the NIC at 1 Gig speed.  I had a 1 Gig NIC card lying around so I disabled the onboard NIC and installed it and everything's fine.  I didn't bother to wear an anti-static strap so could a static discharge have caused this slow down? The onboard NIC still connected, just incredibly slow. Just curious.?
