kingmetal
Sorry for the total newb question here but search wasn't yielding any results: Going to be standing up an unRaid server soon for Plex / Crashplan duties for my house (6+ users) based on a cheap Lenovo i3 server. Was planning on sticking between 8-16GB of RAM in it, but didn't realize the current 'stable' version of unRaid is 32bit. So, my question: would you all suggest a newbie tackle the beta? I'm tech savvy enough (I work in IT) but fairly clueless when it comes to *Nix (this is one of the reasons I want to stand this server up). Quote Link to comment
WeeboTech
I you have your data backed up, then I would say go with unRAID 6. As long as you keep good backups. unRAID6 has been stable since beta 9, (and we're on beta 12 with beta 13 coming soon). Format your new drives as XFS and you'll be fine. Quote Link to comment
kingmetal
Awesome! This will be a new build so I'm gonna start there. I will read up on XFS as well - is that exclusive to unRAID 6? Quote Link to comment
