February 4, 201511 yr unRAID OS Version: 6.0-beta12 Description: Periodically (this has happened at least once every three days for the last two weeks now) my server becomes completely unresponsive at a disk level. Shares stop. GUI won't browse drives. Cannot shutdown. Log indicates hung process every three minutes. Disregarded the first few times but has happened too often not to ignore. Three disk system (3x WD40EFRX), lowest free space is over 20%. No error reported, SMART is clean. February 8, 201511 yr Another week, another set of ReiserFS and SHFS issues. Nearly everyone else who has suffered from these issues have worked around them by going through the lengthy process of converting completely off of RFS and moving to XFS. Just search through the other forums to see this issue chronicled by others.
February 8, 201511 yr Author I have copied the log file, have to hard recycle as its frozen again. This wasn't an issue until b12 that I noticed. Edit: attached now. Other observations on reboot: SAMBA wasn't working correctly. Even starting and stopping the array I could not connect to any shares. AD connection was dropped, had to rejoin. This is the second time this has happened (verified via console as wbinfo returned wbcGetpwnam: WBC_ERR_WINBIND_NOT_AVAILABLE) Interesting observation on AD security: on rejoining, could not browse any resources until I did a net use \\storage03\IPC$ from my workstation. Strange but it gets around the issue. @BRiT - is there a guide to doing that? Happy to go through that process as this is my "test" box. syslog-2015-09-02.txt

February 9, 201511 yr I too am in the process of converting to xfs due to much the same problem. When you have the problem you will probably also notice your load (top right corner of the 'top' screen) is climbing continuously until eventually you will loose contact with the server. I would suggest after you have completed your conversion, you leave this defect report as is rather than marking it solved. This is a very real problem and the defect report is valid.
February 11, 201511 yr Author Agreed. I wouldn't have closed it unless it was solved. Determining that will be in the hands of others; one drive is XFS and the copy / hash check is in progress. Thanks to all for the pointers; apologies for not finding out more about the underlying issue before opening another thread!
