May 8, 200917 yr Hi, I want to setup a system with a Asrock K10N78FULLHD-HSLI R3.0 mainboard. Mainboard already has 6 sata ports, so enought to start with. Should this mainboard work with unraid? If I have a system up and running, I only want to use it as a storage space for my movies. I use a popcorn hour to play them. I don't need the server on 24/7. Can I just turn the server on by the power button, watch a movie and turn it of by the power button or do I need to do more on screen (like in Windows Start --> Shutdown --> ....). Or is there a program available which will turn it of after xx hours of inactivity or ?? Thanks.....

I don't know, it may work fine, but I have not seen any reports on similar boards yet. The main chipsets (NVIDIA GeForce 8200) and the LAN chipset (RTL8211B) are both within families of chipsets that are compatible, but they are just different enough that I would wait, until someone has tested it. If you want to test it, that would be great! And others will thank you for it. - Pressing Power button gracefully shuts down the server. This was in one of the recent betas. However, it depends on the motherboard and BIOS supporting it, much more likely with recent boards, less likely with older boards, but like many power control issues, is not guaranteed on any board.
May 10, 200917 yr Author Hi, Thank you for this info. Than my next question is: Which mainboard supports at least 4, but hopefully 6 sata-II ports AND the gracefully shutdown? Preferable with an AM2/AM2+, a nice price and still available?
