[SOLVED] cannot access shares

Featured Replies

Hi,

I got home yesterday and I could not longer access any of the shares on my unraid box. I can access the web gui fine and all the files are on the drives still. SAB etc still work fine. If I type in the IP of the unraid box into either windows explorer or linux file manager I just get back a prompt that its not available. Any one have any idea what to try?

thanks in advance.

have you tried doing a reboot of the unRAID system? it only takes a few minutes and often has a way - at least for me - of clearing up some strange behavior.

Or you might just try stopping and restarting the array to see if SMB will get restarted.

The first thing I did was a full shutdown of unraid. It came back on line and Web guide etc work fine and I can browse the drives in the website. Even plex media server still works. That led me to think permission had become corrupt so I filled the steps in the fax to reset the permissions then after a reboot no improvement.

Thanks for the help so far

It looks as though there is some corruption on the flash drive

Feb 10 22:25:21 N40L kernel: FAT-fs (sda1): Volume was not properly unmounted. Some data may be corrupt. Please run fsck.
Feb 10 22:25:21 N40L kernel: FAT-fs (sda1): error, fat_get_cluster: invalid cluster chain (i_pos 1378201)
Feb 10 22:25:21 N40L kernel: FAT-fs (sda1): Filesystem has been set read-only
Feb 10 22:25:21 N40L kernel: FAT-fs (sda1): error, fat_get_cluster: invalid cluster chain (i_pos 1378201)

The normal way to fix this is to plug the flash drive into a PC/Mac and let a checkdsk correct the problem.
