[SOLVED] 6b12 CPU not throttling

Featured Replies

Hi folks.

My temporary unRAID server is a Lenovo TS140 with the E3-1225v3.  3.2GHz with turbo to 3.6GHz.  In Windows it'll throttle down to 800MHz with a good power saving.  I'm talking 22W with the drives all spun down.  Same machine with the same drives in unRAID seems to run all 4 cores at 3.2-3.4GHz constant, even with 1-3% CPU utilisation.  Power consumption is over 30W.

So, why's unRAID not throttling the CPU?

Tried running without my Dockers, still 3.2-3.6GHz on all 4 cores.

I just moved unRAID to it's permanent home.  It's an AMD FX8320E on an Asus 760G board.  CPU throttling works perfectly now, and unRAID is also reporting fan speeds which it didn't do before.

Seems unRAID is a bit confused by a Haswell platform.
