February 19, 201511 yr Ok, server built, shares established, data copied into them, but no parity drive or cache drive set yet. Is the next step to go into each share, and tell them to use the cache, then choose the parity drive, or do I do the parity first, then modify the shares for cache, or does it matter?
February 19, 201511 yr Technically it shouldn't matter, but I think I would go ahead with the parity build before I really started "normal usage". It will take a few hours to complete.

You before you tell the shares to use the cache drive you need to add the cache drive and go to Settings->Shaer settings->Cache drive and set the option to use the Cache drive to yes. If you want to you can add the cache drive and parity drive at the same time.
