Cache drive not formatting as XFS after drive was previously used in a pool

Featured Replies

unRAID OS Version: 6.0-beta14

Description: Cache drive does not format to XFS.  Even after I force the GUI to format XFS, after the array is shut down and restarted, it reverts to BTRFS.

How to reproduce: Stop array.  Remove cache drive (previously pooled) from Cache drives setting it to "none".  Change the drive slots to zero.  Start array.  Stop array.  Set drive pool to 1 (or 2 if pooling) and assign drives.  Click on each drive and set format to XFS.  Start array.  After array start, click the button to format the drives.  Wait until finished.  Check array status, cache drive reporting as XFS.  Stop array.  Start array.  Cache drive now reports as BTRFS.

Expected results: Should remain XFS.

Actual results: Reverts to BTRFS.

Other information: Just started w/ the new beta as far as I can tell, but may have been present before.

Just a point, but if the number of slots for the cache disk is set to more than 1 then the format HAS to be BTRFS as that is the only format that supports pooling.  As to whether it is behaving as expected in b14 I am not sure - I am not in a position to play around with my cache drive at the moment.
