Confused about config and library folder location for Plex, Sabnzbd, CP, etc...

Featured Replies

So I just built a new server for Unraid 6 and I'm reinstalling everything. I'm using Phaze's plugins, but I'm having some trouble. I use a cache drive. So the plugins install just fine and of course their default install location is on /local. Same with the config directory.

How should I set this up?  Can I do /boot/installations/plex and  /mnt/cache/.config/plex ? Same with the other plugins?

What's the best practice for these folders?

Best practice is to create a cache only share rather than a folder preceded with a period to omit it from the mover script.

For my server, i have a apps share which is set to cache only. My install directory is left at the default, config/library directory is set to

/mnt/cache/apps/plex/library and transcode directory is set to /mnt/cache/apps/plex/temp.

Oh that must be where I was messing things up. So I create a share on the cache just like I did for the array. Then this share on the cache won't be erased every night with the moving script?

If you set it to Use cache: Only it won't get moved. If you don't do this step then it will definitely get moved.
