I have a 2tb drive in the array.  I want to reassign the 2 tb drive to be my cache drive and replace it with a 3tb drive.  Both drives have been through the pre clear process.  The 3tb drive has a small amount of data that doesn't matter if it is destroyed.  So can I

1.  Stop the array

2.  Unassigned the 2tb drive and assign the 3tb drive in its place.

3.  Reassign the 2tb drive to the cache drive.

4.  Start the array.

 

Is this the correct procedure?

    You do not mention parity?  Do you have a parity disk and is it at least 3TB (since you want a 3TB data disk).
