SAT>IP DVB-S2/T2 Discussion

I am in the process of purchasing some new kit to experiment with this, changing PCIe DVB-S2 to a Triax SAT>IP is step one.

However whilst the internet says SAT>IP can handle DVB-T2 my google foo is failing hard and I cannot find a single product to buy. Can anyone recommend a SAT>IP like device for DVB-T2?

I found some software based thingimy by following a link off wiki (had to look up sat>ip) that mentions quite a few tv standards, including dvb-t2.

I'm a little bit confused about what you are looking for.

Do you want a SAT>IP LNB that has one input for DVB-T2 or a device only for DVB-T2?

I didn't find any device with support for DVB-T2 in my short search, but it might be out there.

If you only want a device for DVB-T2 this device might be a good choice and in the same price range as a SAT>IP LNB.

I support what saarg said. There are still not available devices despite the fact the technology allows it.

If you allow me  I would recommend you to stay away from Sat-IP LNB. Had Triax and Inverto in the past....Sold them both with a great pleasure. It is a dead-born technology.

TBS Moi is an alternative but is still buggy.

What you can try to find is a second hand Netceiver (Reel Multimedia device). It works rock solid in combination with VDR. I am saying "second hand" because the company is not existing anymore. But you can find them on a reasonable price in the German ebay. However they are not cheap but are considered high-end among the Satellite enthusiasts.

Hope that helped you.

Found one in the Octopus range but as usual a premium product commands a premium price

The Moi is way cheaper but I have never heard of it. Crazy there are so many S2 devcies and hardly any T2.

Ta for the assists

Edit: For reference this is the S2 box I am looking at. Good make, great price.

Wish you luck with the Triax device.

Had it in the past too. I am sorry if it sounds rude but it is a piece of junk. Needs to be restarted every 3 hours. Doesn't handle well DVB-S2 transponders as well as high bitrate broadcasts.

Not good. Review seem very polar from amazing to crap. To be fair though the crap reviews read like windows n00bs.

Cant afford a Octopus setup it would be pushing 1000 Euro all in. :(

SATIP in general looks like a fantastic technology

Appreciated but I need something easily replaceable if I am going to integrate it for my family. If I do end up purchasing a sat>ip box and it doesnt work at least retail I can send it back or if it blows up I can RMA or just buy a new one.

Will read up on Netceiver as well though and if i can source one at the right price get one for a play.... or bite the bullet and start an Octopus rack.

The last on my short list

This one is harder to source but seems to receive firmware updates. There is a possibility that this is the father of all the other as OEMs as hinted at here

Update:

    GSS DSI400

    Telestar Digitbt R1

are OEMs of the above Inverto IDL400s (right down to cross flash firmware compatibility)
