May 28, 200917 yr have just added 2 new 1tb drives and am currently re organizing my files, into a structure as such \user shares \movies \a \movie name \b \c ect... Now i'm moving all of folders A-H onto first new 1tb drive atm, leaving 300gb of free space .. Will then move folders I-whatever onto next ect, leaving approx 300gb free on each of the 5 drives that will be used for future adds i'm wanting to make sure that any movie that gets added into a-h folder will be added to only drive 1.. So i am going to be using split level to do this right? and what number should i use? i'm guessing 2.. but i'm not 100% sure
May 28, 200917 yr I don't use User Shares, so I will point you to the FAQ, "What should I set 'Split Level' to?" I *think* the thread about "Split Level = 1" may be the one you want, but you will need to pre-create your second level folders, A to Z.
May 28, 200917 yr Author thanks rob.. that level 1 is the correct one for me going by the examples in that post
May 28, 200917 yr 1 looks correct. The movies share can span multiple disks but no sub directories can. I can't remember for sure but I think 0 means no splitting at all in the newest version of unRAID. Check the release notes. If this is true, then the directories you create will be the only ones that exist. Peter
