March 19, 201511 yr Has anyone had any success getting a response from Supermicro tech support? My SC846 chassis has gone belly-up and I'd like to get an expert opinion before scrapping it. I tried emailing twice but no response. The unit was bought from Newegg, is there any value in signing up for their paid support or any other ideas?
March 19, 201511 yr Assuming you are in the US, have you tried calling them? (408) 503-8000 I called that number and bought a part directly from them.
March 19, 201511 yr I have always had good luck with there support. Had a couple motherboards that had bad RAM slots or something or another. Always been quick to get the issue resolved.
March 19, 201511 yr Author Yes thanks for the phone number, I didn't see that as a tech support option. I called and spoke to a pleasant and knowledgeable support rep. It seems that the power distributor module is faulty. I've ordered a new one and will report back so other SM chassis will be aware.
April 11, 201511 yr Author It turns out that there was nothing wrong with the chassis and I now have a spare power module. The problem was a faulty CPU.
