sureguy
I know this should be easy, but I can't find the setting. How can I set the threshold for disk temperature notifications? Presumably this is a per disk setting. Thanks for any help! Quote Link to comment

sureguy
Thank you. Much appreciated! This setting is probably in the wrong place. It's the opposite of intuitive. Quote Link to comment
kaiguy
It took me a while to find it too. Quote Link to comment
guruleenyc
Is 40c still the ideal threshold? Quote Link to comment
Mrfellow
40c is high, not melting, but high for most comfort levels. You should be looking at something in the low 30s. Quote Link to comment

Actually, as long as you don't go over 50c, you should be fine. Some studies show as much harm from running cool as from running hot. Current thinking is that 37c-46c is ideal, and 40c is just right for that range. http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Minimizing_Hard_Disk_Drive_Failure_and_Data_Loss/Environmental_Control Quote Link to comment
