40c is high, not melting, but high for most comfort levels. You should be looking at something in the low 30s.

Actually, as long as you don't go over 50c, you should be fine. Some studies show as much harm from running cool as from running hot. Current thinking is that 37c-46c is ideal, and 40c is just right for that range.
