sparklyballs
I'm running 6.0 14b and pre-cleared a 4tb WD green , nearly 42 hours thank you very much...... root@Unraid-Nas:/boot/preclear_reports# cat preclear_rpt_WD-WCC4E3VYFJ7D_2015-03-25 ========================================================================1.14 == invoked as: ./preclear_disk.sh /dev/sdi == WDCWD40EZRX-00SPEB0 WD-WCC4E3VYFJ7D == Disk /dev/sdi has been successfully precleared == with a starting sector of 1 == Ran 1 cycle == == Using :Read block size = 1000448 Bytes == Last Cycle's Pre Read Time : 11:22:07 (97 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Zeroing time : 9:49:46 (113 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Post Read Time : 20:28:42 (54 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Total Time : 41:41:34 == == Total Elapsed Time 41:41:34 == == Disk Start Temperature: 31C == == Current Disk Temperature: 29C, == ============================================================================ ** Changed attributes in files: /tmp/smart_start_sdi /tmp/smart_finish_sdi ATTRIBUTE NEW_VAL OLD_VAL FAILURE_THRESHOLD STATUS RAW_VALUE Temperature_Celsius = 123 121 0 ok 29 No SMART attributes are FAILING_NOW 0 sectors were pending re-allocation before the start of the preclear. 0 sectors were pending re-allocation after pre-read in cycle 1 of 1. 0 sectors were pending re-allocation after zero of disk in cycle 1 of 1. 0 sectors are pending re-allocation at the end of the preclear, the number of sectors pending re-allocation did not change. 0 sectors had been re-allocated before the start of the preclear. 0 sectors are re-allocated at the end of the preclear, the number of sectors re-allocated did not change. ============================================================================ I am trying to add it to the array so i can begin moving over some of my drives to XFS. however....... I've never seen it do that before with a pre-cleared drive. Drive is new from amazon, delivered only on monday...... never been in my array at any time since then. I'm worried that if i select clear on that screen that i'll lose the array for nearly 2 days while it clears. Link to comment

sparklyballs
I've just updated the preclear version to 1.15 after seeing something about previous versions not working properly in 64 bit 6.0 started preclearing the drive again. will report back in nearly 2 days, damn........ Link to comment
sparklyballs
After getting a later version (1.15) of the preclear script, and preclearing the drive with it, that things are ok and the drive is now part of the array and currently being used as destination drive for first of my drives to be converted to XFS.
