Western Digital WD20EADS $229.99 @ NewEgg

[glow=red,2,300]Beware, Newegg's OEM packaging STINKS.[/glow]  1 layer of bubble wrap tossed in a box with peanuts is what you will get.  I ordered 6 WD 1TB Black Editions from them and on the set of 4 (4 then 2) the bubble wrap in one area was smashed to just a layer of plastic and the drives were grinding together and likely clanking together.  Newegg should be ashamed of such abysmal packing.  I've complained in the past to them over and over yet they still have not changed their abysmal shipping methods for OEM drives, treating them like some trash thrown in a box.

I saw the Hitachi deal for 2 drives for $110 from ZipZoomFly and saw that they are using the foam protective sleeves that I've been TRYING to get Newegg to use (I had wondered where I got that one I had laying around from!  Guess I ordered a drive from ZipZoomFly at some point!

ZipZoomFly, you get my next OEM drive order.  It's not worth the potential hassle of a return should a drive fail due to inadequate packaging (Had to do this with an order of 4 Raptor 150's a while back, grrr).  Enough is enough.  Time to vote with our money.

You can get it from TigerDirect for $212.49 if you use Bing.com's (aka Live.com's) cashback system. Right now there's a promo between the 2 sites for 15% cashback at TigerDirect if you go to Bing.com and search for hard drives until you see the TigerDirect 15% cashback logo at the top of the screen. Click that link, log in to bing (hotmail, msn, live.com account) and then it will transfer you to TigerDirect... search for 2TB add to cart (you should be seeing the Bing.com cashback logo etc. this whole time) and check out like normally. Within 2-3 days you'll see it show up in your Bing.com cashback account, and in 60 days you get your cashback. More than worth it IMO (and I've done it for over $1,500 worth of cashback through Live.com - it's painless).

$249.99 - 15% (37.4985) = $212.49 + 1.99 shipping (i think)

Also before ragging on TigerDirect... they've gotten a heck of a lot better recently and I have been fairly happy with their services.

www.bing.com is the site that you start this process at.
