March 30, 201511 yr I am on b12 right now and i just added a new drive to my array and apparently it added as an xfs drive whereas all the rest of my drives use reiserfs. Is this a normal behavior now and do i need to re-format that drive as reiserfs?

Is this a normal behavior now and do i need to re-format that drive as reiserfs? I assume you mean v6 (despite this post being in the v5 area) as v5 does not support XFS. You probably also want to upgrade to the latest beta release if that is the case (currently 14b). The default for unRAID v6 is XFS (although ReiserFS is still supported). You probably want to leave it as XFS unless you want the ability to revert to v5 (which does not support XFS). There is no issue with having a mixture of the supported formats on v6. Many v6 users have gone through an exercise of converting their existing ResierFS format drives to XFS as it is thought it might be more stable in the long term. There are various threads discussing this.
