ACPI vs AHCI drivers?

Featured Replies

Watching the messages in my system as it boots and saw this message:

http://my.jetscreenshot.com/12412/20150410-xc8u-1867kb

"If an ACPI driver is available for this device, you should us it instead of the native driver"

ACPI specifies how a computer's basic input/output system, operating system, and peripheral devices communicate with each other about power usage.  Does that really matter in UnRAID?

Thanks...

Jeff...

ACPI refers to power management => i.e. sleep states; sleep timers; WOL; etc.

AHCI refers to the SATA access mode

Not sure just what that message is indicating ... but you can safely just ignore it  :)

Thanks, that's what I thought and couldn't imagine why it cares or relates acpi to ahci, but you never know!
