April 12, 201511 yr I'm trying to install a variety of apps using unmenu, but its acting like it doesn't have rights. Every single app I try to load gives me the same error. The app name and files will change, but the basic error still exists. Even trying to install the C complier doesn't work. ============== screen-4.0.3-i486-1.tgz installation: Verifying package screen-4.0.3-i486-1.tgz. gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file Installing package screen-4.0.3-i486-1.tgz: PACKAGE DESCRIPTION: WARNING: Package has not been created with 'makepkg' Package screen-4.0.3-i486-1.tgz installed. Other than running the unmenu_install - is there anything else that needs to be done before you can install apps?
April 12, 201511 yr Author I just ran preclear on 3 disks and got the following messages. One disk failed (validation for using Preclear!), but the important point is that all three preclears failed when trying to write the logs. 4TB Samsung Drive - http://my.jetscreenshot.com/12412/20150412-nbxr-1762kb 2TB Hitachi Drive - http://my.jetscreenshot.com/12412/20150412-92hp-2054kb 2TB Hitachi Drive - http://my.jetscreenshot.com/12412/20150412-bkyk-2208kb Are these errors a bug, or is there something else involved? As per my previous post, I'm unable to install apps on the USB stick. Seems like these are related? Thanks in advance... Jeff...
April 12, 201511 yr Sounds like there is some sort of corruption on the USB stick and it is therefore being treated as read-only. This is normally fixed by putting the USB stick into a Windows system and letting it fix it (or the equivalent on a Mac).
