April 14, 201511 yr I am running unRAID Pro 6.0-beta14b on one machine and sickbeard on a different machine running Windows 7. I was previously running the free version of unRAID which, I believe, was 5.02 and had no issues. Upon upgrade, my instance of sickbeard, running as administrator, is unable to write to my unRAID machine. When it processes a file, I get the error "Unable to create the show directory." Two things, the directory has already been created when I was using the older version of unRAID, and two, I am able to drag or copy/paste a file from my Windows machine directly to unRAID. I assume my issue is with permissions, but I really don't know enough about them to repair this myself. Thank you.
April 14, 201511 yr dumb question... why dont you just install SB on the unraid machine? It would fix the problem and whats the point of having a windows machine handle sickbeard when you already have unraid running 24/7 (assuming). obviously this doesnt answer your issue, but im curious. also, check out sonarr. sickbeard has stopped development. sonarr is up to date, new, modern, and works great. it even handles failed downloads automatically.
April 14, 201511 yr Run the New Permissions Utility in unRAID. root is no longer allowed share access. Delete any saved credentials in Windows and create a user on unRAID. Using the same login and password as your Windows login and password will make life easier.
April 15, 201511 yr Author Skyhawk, I simply knew nothing about the other program, and also I wanted to keep some of that processing off my unRAID machine since it isn't the most powerful. Maybe I will put it on and test it out when I have time. dgaschk, your suggestion worked for me, thank you.
