April 24, 201511 yr I am in the process of trying to go from 4.3.3 to 5 so I can add a 16h drive and was making some room before I did the switch. Some how I mistakenly deleted some files I need. I have not written any new files out to that drive but the system has gone thru a check parity a couple times. Can I still recreate/restore this drive only? Or is it too late. I also saw another post talking about enabling the Recycle bin, but I don't see that in the settings. Is that a feature in the later versions or what.

I also saw another post talking about enabling the Recycle bin, but I don't see that in the settings. Is that a feature in the later versions or what. I have never used a version that old before, but I am fairly certain that parity worked the same then. Since unRAID parity is done real-time, parity would not actually help recover deleted files. There have been a few versions of the SMB Recycle Bin around, but they basically all work by making changes to the SMB configuration. Any thing deleted over SMB would be put in the bin. It would not help with anything which has already been deleted, or anything that was deleted some way other than SMB over the network. What you probably need is something to do with reiserfsck. I have never needed that and don't have any experience. You might try searching the forum while waiting on further advice. Probably best if you don't try to do anything without guidance since you can make things quite a bit worse if you use reiserfsck incorrectly.
