Stuck on menu page - Xen/unRAID OS

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I just tried to follow this guide http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=34844.0 to complete my vm setup and unRAID is stuck on the menu page when i set menu default as Xen/unRAID OS - see image below

It works fine when i reboot and manually boot in via unRAID OS

Hardware

Intel Core i5 3470T

Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H

Intel PRO1000 Network Card CT

Virtualization Technology, VT-D - both enabled

v6.0-beta14b

Any suggestions please?

Forget about Xen. It is being phased out. The normal boot has KVM, and the latest beta15 has improvements for setting up KVM from the GUI.

Second this.

They've made the new VM system incredibly simple.

If you haven't already, upgrade your unRAID version to 6.0 beta 15.  To do this, simply download the update, extract, and grab 3 files.

bzimage

bzroot

syslinux.cfg

Disclaimer: You should probably make a backup before doing any of this.

Take these files and bring them to their appropriate location on whatever device you're currently using to house your unrAID OS.  Overwrite the current files with these 3 files.

Reboot and you should be good to go.

Now there is an extremely simple GUI for creating VMs.  You just answer a few questions about names and resource allocation, you tell it where to find the .iso file for the OS you're trying to install, and you tell it how large of a virtual disk to make.  Hit create, and you'll have the ability to VNC into the creation process and interact.

Good luck!
