May 2, 201511 yr I was using 5.0.5 for a while with no problems. So I wanted to upgrade to the latest stable and went for 5.0.6. Oddly I'm not able to create/write to any of the user shares. I don't want to make any changes until I figure out what happened. I know there is a one time permissions fix, but that's for when upgrading from a much older version, correct? Gotta be something real stupid. I noticed it when SAB couldn't create folders. User share settings are all public.
May 2, 201511 yr Author Syslog? Wow, I can write to disk shares, but not user. Checking syslog now. Sheesh. I don't need this today!

May 2, 201511 yr Author A few reboots. I can write to disk shares, but not to user. Some how upgrading from 5.0.5 to 5.0.6 made my user shares read only. Arghhh. May 2, 201511 yr Author Odd. Removed the stick, stuck it in my PC and Windows said there may be an issue and to run check disk. Did that and no errors and now when I stick it in the PC no errors or anything. Put it back in the unraid box and booted up and now I can write to my user shares. Very weird one. I think that USB stick has been in that same slot since 2010. Never touch it, except when I do my daily cleaning, vacuuming. Maybe I'll get another USB stick just in case. Gotta read up on how to transfer the license to the new stick. I believe I have a new stick in the house already. I actually have a ton of USB sticks, but mostly old ones I don't trust, but do have one new one, still in the package.
May 2, 201511 yr Shutting down without stopping the array first can cause this. You will have to contact limetech for a new key file if you want to use a different flash.
