Install Diagnostic Tools

Recommended Posts

I'm used to having a suite of diagnostic tools to test network speeds, disk speeds, in my windows environment.  I'm finding that unRAID/Slackware is missing these tools (i.e. iostat, netcat, etc).  I'm sure this is a simple point, but how do we install apps from someplace such as http://packages.debian.org/sid/netcat-openbsd or from a tar.gz file?  I've not been able to find yum, or apt-get or any other way, other than through unmenu, to install apps.  Is there documentation on how to do that in unRAID?
