FTP Server in Unraid

Featured Replies

Please excuse me if this has been covered.

Running unraid 4.4.2 with 15 drives.

I am trying to setup FTP access to the server so I can have daily backups from other remote servers uploaded to my unraid.

I was able to create a user, login, and share.

Problem #1 - When logging in via FTP - I can see all the individual disks but non of the shares.  I had hoped that the FTP login would limit the user to the actual share and not all the individual disks.

Problem #2 - I can log in and navigate to the appropriate disk / share folder.  But when I tried to view the contents of the folder nothing shows up.  Now it gets even stranger - I can upload files into this folder and they appear so long as I am in the current session.  But if I log back out and back in - the folders appear to be empty again.    However if I look at the folder from the server or from a standard network share - all the files are there - even the recently uploaded ones.

I think this problem might have something to do with read access in the folder - but I am not sure where or how to change these rights.

Any tips?

Anyone connect to unraid via FTP?  If so what do you do to get it working?
