Replaced a drive

Featured Replies

I am replacing my 3tb drives with 8tb drives. Preclear and parity already done.

I shut down the server and removed the 3tb disk1 and replaced with 8tb drive.

V6 detected an upgrade and I clicked start and now its been stuck on mounting disks for a while.

The parity drive and disk1 drives lights are active.

Is this normal operation? What's happening?

Did you do a preclear on the 8TB drive beforehand? If not, I'd say this is normal as it is prepping the drive.

No, a rebuild does not require a disk to be clear, and it doesn't clear the disk before doing the rebuild.

For some reason the OP has multiple threads going about this, and everything is OK.

OP. there is no need to start multiple threads. It makes it very difficult for everyone to respond to you. If you think your post is not getting attention, just "bump" it. If you are unfamiliar with the term "bump", it means to reply to your own post, sometimes with more information, sometimes with just the word "bump". This has the effect of marking the thread "new". This is how I and many of the regular posters decide what to read.
