cache drives + btrfs

Firstly, apologies if this has been covered elsewhere before but I couldn't find much with search.

I'm keen to have a large cache drive present in my new system and wondered if I'd be able to utilise pooling? Ideally it would look something 256gb SSD cache drive with a 2tb failover backup if that fills up (a rare occurrence, but possible).
