Linux line endings in domain.cfg and docker.cfg

Featured Replies

unRAID OS Version:  v6.0-beta15

Description:  The new config files domain.cfg and docker.cfg (found in /boot/config) have Linux line endings, unlike all other .cfg files there.  I really don't know if this is a defect or not, an oversight or not, but thought Tom should be aware of it, in case it was not by design.  It doesn't matter to me, or to most technical users.

Since these cfg files are all auto-generated, I actually prefer to have them in linux format (just stating my personal view here and you may disagree).

They should probably be consistent with the rest of the CFG files. If the others are CRLF, they should be consistent with that.

The 'cfg' files were given windows-style line endings so that immediately after creating a bootable usb flash device, before ejecting, you could edit them directly using windows notepad.  You might do this, for example, to jpre-set a static IP address for your server, or change it's name, etc.  For files that are auto-generated I see no need to adhere to this convention.

Fair enough, consider this closed.  A last comment, because users are users, I would not be surprised to see some edit these files, with possibly the wrong line endings.
