4.5 beta 6 stuck on loading bzroot

Featured Replies

i just recently upgraded to version 4.5 beta 6 and now the server gets stuck at the end of loading bzroot. any ideas?

Take a look in the wiki:

http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=USB_Flash_Drive_Preparation#If_the_Flash_will_not_boot.2C_read_over_the_following_tips

Especially the 5th bullet from the bottom which says:

If it appears as if the flash drive gets part way through the boot process but stops when loading bzroot, you may need to use the latest version of syslinux in the downloads folder at Lime-Technology. Use of syslinux version 3.63 in combination with the -ma option was the solution in this thread. (After downloading syslinux 3.63.zip, extract syslinux.exe from the zip file.) A number of users upgrading from a v4.2 version to a v4.3 version have found that the new syslinux is necessary, even though their flash drive had worked fine with v4.2.

That wiki entry was originally written when 4.3 was being released, but still applies.   Try downloading and running the newest version of syslinux on your flash drive.  (The current syslinux version may be newer than the 3.63 version mentioned in the wiki... that is good... it keeps evolving as newer motherboard BIOS are handled.  Use the most current version available in the downloads area)

A thread describing this exact same symptom is here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=3238.0

You should NOT need to reformat it, or reload it, just run

syslinux -ma X:

where X = the drive letter assigned to it when you put it in your windows machine.
