May 21, 201511 yr When I upgraded from rc2 to rc3 the upgrade appeared to proceed as normal. If there was any warning, it was lost in the small print. All I know is that there was a 'Done' button at the bottom of the popup window which displays progress during updates. After the popup window was cleared away, the main 'Plugins' psge redisplayed and informed me that a reboot was required. When I performed the reboot the machine failed to restart - no services were accessible and the webgui was awol - even ssh wouldn't connect. I fired up the IPMI console and found a 'kernel panic' message displayed. I pulled the usb flash drive out of the server and plugged it into a desktop machine. On inspection, it was clear that the bzroot was only around 40MB where previous versions were in excess of 60MB. I cleared some older backed-up versions from the flash drive, downloaded and copied rc3 manually. On rebooting with the modified flash drive the system started up as normal. I feel that, with the 'semi-automatic' update procedure, it is essential that some warning is given before the user reboots in the case that the upgrade did not complete properly.
