May 21, 201511 yr Hello, I have been using Unraid 5 for a long time now and one of the features I love about the software is the fact that if my motherboard dies I could easily move my drives and USB to another computer and get everything back up and running. New with Unraid 6 rc coming out I would like to know if I would still have this feature? Currently I see having the standard disk array, cache pool, plex server, and mayby dockers and VMs what issues might happen if I move the drives and USB to another PC?

VM's might involve some troubleshooting or modification to get running on the new PC, but everything else should work as you would expect.
May 21, 201511 yr Author Outstanding Thank You Kind of figured any VMs would need tweaking to work in a new system. In the end I just care about getting the array back online quickly.

The only VMs that should need tweaking are those of the Windows variety if you are doing host model pass through for the processor or if you are changing any PCI devices you are passing through to them. And for Windows, the tweak I refer to is having to potentially reactivate your license. Other than that, VMs should be just as portable as unRAID OS.
