Docker to Copy/Unencrypt .TIVO files and then add to Plex share?

Featured Replies

I am about to pull the trigger on a Tivo Romio OTA DVR (replacing Channel Master DVR+) with the hope I can get the recordings into Plex (thus viewable via Roku from all TVs in house). I have Googled on how to do this but most articles are about manual processing (ugh).

Is there a Docker that does it all automatically for Tivo >> Plex?

#1 reason for this would be to avoid the additional expense of having to buy the Tivo "Mini" ($150 per TV) to be able to watch recorded shows on other TV sets.

Just a thought, might be easier if you checked out a method to make sure it works then ask if someone (not naming any names, but sparklyballs is the number one suspect  ;D ) can dockerise it.

Do you mean something like this?

Interesting... a Plex plug-in. I will have to wait until I have the Tivo to test but this looks like it might work.

Yeah, there's a lot of stuff out there but I'm willing to bet a lot is outdated.  This did look like it shows some promise.  Good Luck

Check out pinion's pyTivo docker, it can push/pull content to/from your Tivo.  Works great.

The "Tivo To Go" channel plugin failed my initial test. It found the tivo and displayed the recoding list but threw an error when trying to stream the recording. Both in browser & Roku.

I will give the pyTivo a try.

Did you ever figure this out?
